Pen and Ink



This drawing is more "high contrast" then the other of the same view; it depends on a stronger vertical line, varied line widths, and cross hatch for value changes.


This drawing includes an ink wash for grey tones rather than rely on cross hatch or line layering to create the value changes. The texture on the bark is done with a more circular move of the pen point.

The center drawing is a "detail" from the photo. The object was to look for a composition within a composition. Cross hatch is the main technique for value changes.
